Craig Mackinlay of Breeze Creative has worked with new artisan company, The Argyll Smokery, to design 2 logo styles, stationery, packaging, point of sale and exhibition materials. Business owners Karen Baxter and Allan McDougall are seasoned ‘smokers’ having worked together previously and believe their passion and flair for good food sparked their desire to start up a business together.
Using old West Highland smoking techniques, they have launched a range of smoked fish products from traditional smoked salmon and trout to pate and other delicacies from the sea. From The Argyll Smokery’s base in Dunoon, the products will be distributed throughout the UK via specialist retailers. The company approached Breeze Creative on the strength of Mackinlay’s branding and packaging portfolio.

Best Packaging at The Quality Food Awards 2013
Craig Mackinlay of Breeze Creative is absolutely delighted to announce that new business start-up client The Argyll Smokery, for whom he created branding and packaging in 2010, won the Best Packaging category at The Quality Food Awards 2013. The company also won the Fresh Fish Category and then went on to claim the event’s Overall Gold Q, the ultimate accolade for excellence at the awards. Given the raft of really big established brands that enter including all the multiple retailers, this really is an amazing achievement.
Judging of the hundreds of entries from across Britain took place in August and the awards ceremony was held at Grosvenor House Hotel, London, prior to Christmas. The awards are widely recognised for celebrating the best of British Food.
Headline Sponsor, packaging solutions company the Benson Group, stated, “the best packaging, like the best food, doesn’t happen by accident”. Our sentiments exactly!!!
